Toilet Clear Floor Space

The accessible urinal is required to have a 30 x 48 760 mm x 1220 mm clear floor or ground space positioned for forward approach.

Toilet clear floor space.

The door swing is allowed to overlap the clearance for a lavatory in a toilet room as long as there is a 30 760 mm x 48 1220 mm clear floor space beyond the arc of the door. To pass state building code every fixture in the bathroom including the toilet must have a minimum of 21 inches of clear floor space in front of it. Where urinals are placed in a alcove deeper than 24 610 mm then the alcove must be 36 min 915 mm wide. Position at most elements clear floor or ground space can be positioned for either a forward or a side approach.

Where the toilet room or bathing room is for individual use and a clear floor space complying with 305 3 is provided within the room beyond the arc of the door swing doors shall be permitted to swing into the clear floor space or clearance required for any fixture.
