It really is a beautiful dark deep woody forest without the greens smell. I like it decently enough maybe even a lot. However it is a great fragrance that merits smelling and enjoying wholly apart from the oud wood that preceded it by a decade. However after that this tom ford is more of a strong moderate.

Sillage wise it is fairly intense but it s not a crazy monster perfume. Tom ford oud wood intense is a significant misnomer as the fragrance does not correlate with the original oud wood all that much. While it s not super powerful this one does have a thick almost enveloping aroma. The oud and castoreum are the most prominent notes.

I recognise the same oud that tom brought over to the west with m7 by yves saint laurent but there is not much more oud in oud wood than there was in m7. Slightly spicy a touch of sweetness and the requisite dry wood vibe make oud wood a great starting point and or basic version tom ford oud scent to wear. Tom ford s oud wood is a pleasant warm synthetic sandalwood and cardamom fragrance but i do not really consider it oud. Definitely well made and is entering imo into living legend status.

This is probably the nicest of the tom ford private blend oud line. Tom ford oud wood intense opens with strong deep dark woody and leathery notes very simple. Oud wood intense is instantly smokier than the oud wood almost as if the woods of the original have been set alight and are burning with soft black embers. It s kind of awesome but too bitter and lackluster for me to want to own it.
