Reviewed in the united states on february 25 2019 after reading the feedback on this product i was very hesitant to buy this lp. But that is one of lateralus most. The biggest complaint is a shut in sound and poor dynamics on the cd. I ve only seen few that say it sounds great so looks like it ll just be a collectors item for me.

Lateralus is the third studio album by american rock band tool. Lateralus has long been a favourite album and this vinyl pressing serves only to enhance the experience. This is an amazing two picture disk lp of tool s lateralus. I know it s a picture disc release.

Sounds ok when it s full band but in the soft dynamics it ruins the listening. Each side contains a different picture and is packaged in a plastic gatefold with a holographic foil. Finding tool records never used is difficult much less in like new condition. I ran it through a technics su 91g and my ess 1b speakers.

Band over the edge with elongated musical movements that simmer under heavy duty distortion middle eastern percussion and freakish guitar and drum time signatures that will make musical mathematicians i e prog rock dorks as excited as the kids in the mosh pit. As soon as i received it i cleaned it thoroughly and then i put it on the platter of my b o turntable with an mmc 5 cartridge running at 1 2 gram. Editorial reviews fifty one months after lateralus original release in cd format tool is ready to release a double vinyl four picture disc edition of lateralus. Anyway on a whim i splashed out on tools lateralus on vinyl.

Just another terrible review for this. Lateralus takes the l a. The discs are heavy grade being a double album the grooves are not crammed in tightly together allowing for more headroom and giving your arm and cartridge every opportunity to extract as much detail and energy as possible. The band have perfected every little detail for lateralus and was well worth the wait.

So much of tool s third full length studio album five years in the waiting due in part to extended legal turbulence makes so little sense at first. It was rush sabbath. Here s hoping they release this album properly for vinyl. This is that very record.

On august 23 2005 lateralus was released as a limited edition two picture disc vinyl lp in a holographic gatefold package. Mine has tons of surface noise. Undertow tool s 1993 debut lp took studio skill and over trained chops to metal with aplomb.
