Scrape the grout off to remove the trim tiles on the edges.
Hammer lightly to remove the trim tile.
Continue removing grout all throughout the tile surface.
Once you ve removed the grout and caulk surrounding a tile try to pry it up with a putty knife.
Aside from using a hammer with the masonry chisel you can also use a hammer to smash up the tile if you need to.
The cabinet portion will be sanded down refinished then.
Lightly hammer on the chisel to take off these trim tiles.
For semi soft adhesive mastic use 120 grit sandpaper to remove it from the wall.
Allow to fully dry.
Of course many people would prefer to have proper demolition tools to do this job.
Sometimes tile isn t going to come up in one piece.
To remove thinset use a stiff putty knife and some elbow grease to scrape it from the wall.
The grout should be removed as is.
Remove trim tile from the edges of the countertop by first scoring and removing the grout.
Once all the grout has been removed carefully take a small chisel and place it in the grout groove.
Before you attempt to remove a tile though you ll first need to remove the grout and caulk.
Fill drywall gouges with drywall joint compound and sand it smooth.

Caulk can be softened with a heat gun.
In some cases the only way to tear out the ceramic tile is with heavy equipment such as a jackhammer or air chisel.
After the grout has been removed carefully chisel the trim tiles off.
Use a ball peen or masonry hammer and cold chisel to tap the pieces free.
